St Paul's Cathedral

We are back in London following our tour of Midsomer. It was raining this morning as we left Little Amersham and at one stage we drove though some flooding and past the scene of a road accident before finally (a couple of wrong turns later - my fault) arriving back at the car hire place with 10 minutes to spare. It seems it always takes longer to get places here and I am wondering if that's because we are dealing with miles rather than our more familiar kilometres. I went out to check the nearby shops (stationery, souvenirs) before settling in for a coffee at Nero's.

Then it was back to the hotel to collect Sooz to go to St Paul's Cathedral for Evensong. What an amazing experience that was, and definitely one of the highlights of our trip to London. There was a large congregation and the music and lessons were amazing. We were even able to take some photographs after the service as a reminder of our time there. We also kept a copy of the Order of Service.

We had dinner at the hotel tonight. The other night when we had tried to go there was a problem with the oven so we passed on the soup or burgers and went out for Italian instead. Tonight they had some sort of function on but we were able to eat there. The function was in an adjoining room and at one stage the door was closed and then we heard strange knocking coming from there. No doubt some sort of Secret Business.
