Hang on - we're going backwards! I wasn't expecting them train to go backwards all the way to Paris - it's confusing and getting my head around it is a bit like working out what time it is in Sydney when they're having Daylight Savings Time. I am not a fan. But then I realised if we saw something out the window, we would still be able to see it once we'd past it, and that was okay.
We had a slow start this morning after breakfast at the hotel in Nantes. I had thought about trekking out to see the giant sea serpent sculpture over at the coast, but the best price I could find for the trip was about €230; if it hadn't been raining I may have done it but in the end we hung around town waiting for our train back to Paris.

We spent some time in the local park. It was fun with 2D sculptures of people with their very long arms wrapped around poles or lolling in a pond. There was a petting zoo (don't feed the goats), a gigantic park bench and a very large stag and deer. Most of the vegetation in the park was labelled - including a Pin-Wollemi - believed extinct but found in a 'secret for a long time' location in New South Wales. I have taken a photo of the plaque near it and hope Sooz (or Google) will be able to see if it gives the story of how it came to be here, in a park, in Nantes. Also here in Nantes - the painted rock Jo gave me to leave somewhere for her. I have carried it throughout Europe, looking for the perfect spot for it, and I knew today that I had run out of time. But I was very happy with where it ended up, not completely hidden, not too obvious, but somewhere where it can be found and taken on the next leg of its journey.

It was dark when the train pulled into Montparnasse station this evening. This was good as we were able to see the Eiffel Tower lit up once more. We were twenty minutes too early to see it twinkle but we could imagine it.
We had dinner at La Diva again tonight and Sooz revisited the Crepe Suzette and this time I did a better job of catching it on video (dinner and a show). I think our waiter may have used a tad too much alcohol in the preparation because that dessert just kept on flaming.
