When I was looking for the BigBus stop this morning, I didn't realise the one I was on would stop - at the start of Waterloo Bridge. It was fortunate that it did otherwise I would have had to wait until tomorrow to take a photograph of the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. I did take try to take snaps of them from the moving bus earlier in the morning, but they weren't that good. So after jumping off the stopped bus, I wandered down to Southbank and the land of photo opportunities.

We had the Continental breakfast at the Hotel this morning and we enjoyed it very much. The fruit was splendid especially the strawberries and the rockmelon, which surprised me because I thought that it would be out of season since it is Autumn here now. My task for today was sightseeing - and checking out which routes Sooz and I would do on the HoHo buses tomorrow and whether there was anywhere that would definitely be worth a visit. Yes, I know, we are in London so there's lots but we won't have time to see them all. From today's bus tour, Trafalgar Square is definitely on the list, and Westminster Abbey, okay, and the Tower of Big Ben, although I did see that today, but not close up. And one more, St Paul's Cathedral at 5pm for Evensong.
I had thought taking the HoHo bus on a wet day would be good because it would mean it wouldn't be as crowded - and it wasn't. But it was wet, there was rain on the outside of the windows and condensation on the insides - not exactly ideal for sightseeing, but I did manage to get a couple of photos on the phone. And did I mention that because it was raining, the traffic was horrid?

Television is different here - in that we have been watching television here rather than watching BritBox and episodes of Midsomer Murders. Although ... while we were channel surfing on Saturday night, I had mentioned that it would be good if there was an episode of Barnaby on - and there was!
Tonight is Quiz night on BBC television and we played along for a little while - a long while actually - before changing over to the station called Dave and watching an episode of QI.
